RCH Engineering is based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, and offers the best in bespoke metal and wood work.
What began as a hobby back in 2006 became a business in 2016 when we began receiving much more interest in what we could make.
Every product we make is handmade in our workshop. Your product is always going to be a high quality unique item.
We are happy to work with both businesses and individuals alike, no job is too small for us.
Our Story
Rob Hartley is the owner and founder of RCH Engineering.
Rob began his career as a mechanic as he is the third generation of mechanical engineers in his family, he has life-long experience in mechanics and engineering.
Rob has spent the last 17 years modifying his own car, and where possible has designed and made the parts himself.
He has attended many car shows over the years and his work has always received a lot of interest.
As well as metalwork, Rob also enjoys working with wood, whether it’s making items of furniture or turning a vase or bowl on his lathe.
His attention to detail and high standard of workmanship is what started clients asking for bespoke items to be commissioned and thus RCH Engineering was founded in 2016.
Rob’s business was slowly starting to increase, but it’s no easy feat building a business when it’s on the side of another job.
Fast forward to 2020…
Rob became a father for the first time in February.
Then in March, everything changed. He was furloughed from his main job, giving him the chance he needed to see if RCH Engineering could take off.
In September 2020, Rob and his family decided that he should take the plunge and make RCH Engineering his full-time job.
He has never looked back!
